Ever since I was a little girl words have been magical for me. They were able to take me miles away from our small family farm in rural Nebraska as I stood on bales of hay reciting memorized poems, or while my hand moved quickly filling pages and pages of notebooks with stories inspired by Edgar Allan Poe in my bedroom until all hours of the night. I’ve always known there was something special in the way stories and words flowed through me and that one day I would be a writer. This is a passion that has stayed with me throughout my life, through college, raising my two children and all the many hats I’ve worn in my career. But the only hat that’s ever felt like it fit was the one as a writer.

I have many stories to share, and right now it is my pleasure to be co-writing a novel set on Italy’s Amalfi Coast with my daughter Laura Thayer. We are eager to share the story of one very warm southern Italian family in Vietri sul Mare and how an unfortunate accident brings a mysterious woman into their lives, upsetting and changing everything, while at the same time offering them a chance to heal their past and grow together again.
